I have learned that there is no “One solution fits all” strategy. While some corporate strategies can be leveraged across all the markets, most strategies need to be customized to succeed in each local market. Having cut my teeth at major MNC, subsequently I led a Surgical Robotic Start-up for 6 years ending with successful submission for CE mark. I learnt the art of working in a start-up where resources are scarce, its future uncertain and risk taking necessary. Hence, I have become an even more rounded leader who is adept at navigating the "VUCA" environment - by succeeding in a result-oriented MNC environment or thriving in a start-up with a boot strapping mind-set. WHAT MAKES ME UNIQUE Everywhere I went, I confess I was not the smartest nor the one with all the answers. One thing I have learnt in my 20+ years of healthcare work: No one - no matter how smart - has all the answers. The world is simply too diverse and unpredictable. As a General Manager, I feel the best solution is to attract, develop and retain a strong leadership team with local knowledge. RESULT BASED LEADERSHIP While I am true believer in strategy implementation and people development, I never forget that, “The Proof of the Pudding is in the Eating”. Having full P&L responsibility, I have achieved or exceeded my target for 14 consecutive years across different countries and organizations.
